The goal of vocational education in the 21^st century emphasizes on course innovation and professional skills. Our objective is to provide the students an environment for well developing in the character, knowledge, physical culture, communication, and in aesthetics. Department of Cosmetology and Styling is established as a new direction for vocational students a different way of undergraduate learning.

Goals and Course Design

The curriculum is divided into three programs: facial and beauty care, fashion design, and model training. The training courses of each program are brief as below.

1.      Facial and beauty care program emphasizes on basic facial and body care training, and knowledge of health care. With the professional training courses, the students can pursue further studies to be a lecture in a beauty care center.

2.      Fashion design program focuses on three areas: hair styling, makeup designing, and dress and fashion designing. The training courses provide professional knowledge and skills in aesthetics and body cares. The objective is to raise the student as a fashion stylist for career. Our department makes efforts on the faculty and facilities to an international level. We highly encourage students to attend the national and international contests. From the experiences in competition with nations, the students can improve skills and also broaden their views.

3.  Model training program provides several training courses in the areas of nutrition, health care, cosmetic medicine, cosmetic application, model training and performing arts. With well knowledge of health care and well training of body performance, we plan to raise professional models or fashion show directors.

Features of Academic Curriculum

1.      With a series of well drilled courses, we aim to train professional fashion stylists and inventive directors in order to meet the need of the employment market.

2.      With integrated courses of hair styling and fashion design, we plan to raise advanced hair stylists.

3.      With sufficient knowledge and proficient skills of facial and body cares, the students can train themselves as advanced beauticians and/or salon managers.

4.      With a completed series of training courses in performing arts, stage performance, and photograph performance, we provide students a high opportunity to enter upon a model career or be a director in fashion shows.

5.      By attending marketing and management courses, we give students a well preparation and abilities of leadership in the related area.
